Nice ---- did you sell the Mako to pay for the GS?

It’s supremely comfortable on this bracelet, which tapers from 23mm at the lugs to much slimmer around the wrist. The sliding micro adjustment is sweet too.

How does that sliding micro adjustment work?

I'm assuming it is something a bit fancier than the MM300 adjustable clasp (which, by the way, I actually like, although I may be the only one).

I don’t remember what the MM300 clasp was like but on this one, when you open the top part of the clasp and gently pull it back it releases the sliding part. Once you have fully closed the clasp, you can then tighten it, and it ratchets up click by click.

How thin is the clasp?

Congrats on the piece.

Yes, that is the same as the MM300 clasp.

Push backwards on the flip lock and the extension releases.

People argue the Seiko design isn't as elegant as the Glidelock on the Rolex, but I have no issue with it. The Seiko design provides 3cm of additional bracelet length hidden within a normal length clasp.

I only wore my MM300 on the rubber, which I loved so I couldn’t remember. It’s a neat system. I do wish the E9 came with a rubber strap in addition to the bracelet though!

Not to nerd out on Seiko rubber straps, but I especially like the one that came with my SLA017.

I think I see lug holes on your Grand Seiko, so that strap would work for you (it has steel liners for the spring bar holes, so without lug holes you’d be forced to cut it off the watch).

Not my photo, but this is the strap:

It does have lug holes thankfully. That looks pretty much like the rubber on the sbdx001. The difficult aspect of finding a good alternative strap for this GS is that the lug width is 23 mm. Probably wouldn’t look to terribly bad to put a 22 mm strap on there but the gap would probably bug me.
