If you can get past the X on the dial (never bothered me), the SLA055 and SLA057 are worth looking into.smellody wrote: ↑Fri Jul 01, 2022 6:38 pmAgree with you on the X dials. I'm big enough to pull it off... but also as happy wearing one of my 30mm Rolex.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Fri Jul 01, 2022 6:34 pmNo stupid prospex on the dial. Just as it should be. The MM300 is probably the watch id like to own the most but never will because it’s too big for me to wear.
This watch is leaps and bounds beyond any Seiko I've ever seen. I may have try a GS dive model if the love continues. . .

I was discussing monobloc watch cases a bit ago and it reminded me of one of the little MM300 details that make it so special (and reinforces the value of vertically integrated watch manufacturers).
With a monobloc case, the movement is loaded and removed from the front.
The 8L35 movement used in the MM300 has the crown stem release lever in the front of the movement. You can see it to the right of the date window:

The only way to make a monobloc case work with something like an SW200-1 is to use a split crown stem or maybe have a hole and plug in the caseback so the stem release button could be accessed (I think Helson did this with their ProPlog "homage").
I appreciate how Seiko designed and engineered the movement and case to work together.
