Really wish I kept my last 001… sold it for $1050!
I think we all did at one point... some of us more than once to include myself!
I once made a $600 profit in the sale of the sbdx012, too, and really wish i would have kept that one! It was the same time i also owned a bluesy and gv milgauss. Now i'm happy with a ssk005... how times have changed for this crazy hobby!

Any intel on where to buy one in the USA before they’re gone?
Sorry, I got mine in Australia, probably Topper, Timeless or Gnomon, or you could try some of the Japanese vendors.

I think Gnomen Watches has them and is running a 10% off sale right now, so about $2,200 net.
Like our esteemed colleague Myles, I have also resisted the temptation to sell my OG version SBDX001 that I’ve owned since new for the better part of a decade.
I really ought to send it to Japan for a service before parts become unavailable.

I believe the 8L35 is still being used in various high end divers models.

I think they service them in the States now, at Seiko's COSERV service center in Mahwah, NJ. That said, I don't know if I trust them. They get mixed reviews.

The last 7 watches I have sent to Seiko NJ have come back perfect. So no fear using them for me.

Made the mistake of selling my SBDX001 years ago. Bought an SBDX017 nearly 3 years ago and it's not going anywhere. For not much more than the price of a mid range Seiko dive watch, you get something so much better.

My SBDX001 from 2008 will always be with me. I love this combination and if I was smart I'd thin down my Seiko collection and spend more time wearing this one. Never said I was smart though.

exchanged emails with Jack. He no longer services the MM300. He said it's too difficult for him to get parts.
