Watch is definitely hot, nice to see that at least anecdotally the tested watch was super accurate. Hopefully they are regulating them for this $$.spring-diver wrote: ↑Mon Dec 20, 2021 9:10 pmDamn! This is friking killer

Thanks a ton for sharing your thoughts sir !!!
8L35? If so, the guys on the SLA049/051 thread on WUS seem to be reporting decent accuracy too.dnslater wrote:Watch is definitely hot, nice to see that at least anecdotally the tested watch was super accurate. The White Birch high beat is the best selling Grand Seiko watch right now, mainly because it has a design similar to the Snowflake, but is probably the only Grand Seiko that is completely brushed, so it feels more modern. Smart of them to make a Spring Drive version.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 1:09 pmThat looks nice Tom, and I'm sure it's incredibly well finished. Even so, so many of these GS releases are such a minor tweak on a common theme. They probably have 200 references over the last couple years that are effectively identical to the above.
I’d wear that White Birch Spring Drive for certain. I found the Snowflake a bit larger than expected, so this at 40mm might wear a bit better.dnslater wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 3:45 pmThe White Birch high beat is the best selling Grand Seiko watch right now, mainly because it has a design similar to the Snowflake, but is probably the only Grand Seiko that is completely brushed, so it feels more modern. So glad everyone likes this one so much.Ryeguy wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 4:15 pmI’d wear that White Birch Spring Drive for certain. I also like the power reserve indicator on the back under the rotor. It’s there to see it when you’d like to know the reserve (like in the morning as you put on the watch), but not cluttering up the dial. Very nice enhancement.
It's a really fantastic point Myles. Wouldn't it be cool if they had the watch
I just knew they’d be sticking a 6R in there. That’s an automatic no for me 99% of the time.Seppia wrote:

Apparently there's a chance King Seiko will become what the old GS used to be.
List price is $1700, so if it comes down to a real price of around $1000 as expected this could become a great offering.
37mm, 12mm thick, 100% Seiko Grammar of Design...
If the finishing is good it may be mine
I played the 6r lottery with my $1200 SPB143 and it gains 10-15 seconds / day. I have to many more accurate watches and just don't wear it much due to this. I'm fine with that level of accuracy on a $300 SKX or Turtle, but I think once you get over $1k they need to get their shit together and offer a more accurate movement. Seiko is easily capable of scaling up some sort of automated regulation, they just don't seem to care to.Chocodove wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 5:12 amI’ve had relatively decent luck with the 6R’s, but the two that were bad, were bad. One died right after I sold it to someone (covered under warranty) and another was like -13.
The SPB187 I currently have is +4ish after 8 months.
I get it, though. It really is kinda a crapshoot.
Lol.Seppia wrote:I’d rather pay $1000 for a nice watch with a 6r Vs $3000 for the same watch with an unregulated 8lr.palace wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 4:49 amI just knew they’d be sticking a 6R in there. That’s an automatic no for me 99% of the time.Seppia wrote:

I could be in in this too, it's gorgeous. I've never had any issues with 6Rs. Guess I've been lucky.Seppia wrote:
