Definitely will wear smaller than dimensions; more like 41/40mm.
That's a good thing; I've been looking to move to smaller cases (without dipping below 40mm).
I still have to get plastic off and wear it around a bit before sharing impressions, but initially feel very good about this.

Strap choice was a no-brainer - DrunkArt Canvas.
Re: New Seiko Thread
Seiko just released the (nearly) perfect travel adventure watch with that model.
Every brand seems to want to just take their dive watch case, put a GMT movement in it, and put a 24 hour bezel on it. This Seiko is so much more practical than that layout in my opinion. (Yes, I know with the GMT bezel you can track a third time zone, but I've never needed to do that using a watch.)
The only improvement I would suggest would be to make the movement a jump hour hand ("flyer" versus "caller") but that is about it. To be honest, I've owned multiple ETA 2893-2 powered watches and never had an issue. Fussing with the watch gives you something to do while you wait for the airport gate to become available.
While I am not in love with the 4:30 date position, at least Seiko used a dial color matched date wheel so blends into the background.
I will definitely own one of these (probably in the very near future).

You saved me having to write a review, solid comments.
Having the watch, I would add the following:
The bezel action could be tighter, time will tell if it tends to shift on it's own.
There is a lot of light reflecting off the bezel insert. If this was my only watch, I would prefer a less "active" insert.
I've owned the original Marinemaster a few times and battled with the chunkiness factor, this is a great alternative for me.
Re: New Seiko Thread
At least with Seiko, bezel action can be adjusted without too much difficulty. You just have to bend up the spring tabs a bit.
I wouldn’t want to do it (especially on a new watch), but it isn’t challenging for someone with the right tools and experience.

Re: New Seiko Thread
….and the MM300 isn’t “chunky”. It simply has a “Dad bod”. Chicks dig that today.

Re: New Seiko Thread
I thought about you when I saw this watch, because same as yo,u I've always like the MM300, but I don't like how it wears on me (not only a tad big but very top heavy). This one should fit nicely. Really love the green, but as I have a green Willard, I think I will pick up the black one.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 9:12 amThis looks so good. The original MM300 is one of the watches that I really wish wasn't too large for me. Such an iconic design from, IMO, the heyday of watches.
Regarding the GMT function, the truth is a caller GMT is more useful for me do to work. What would be the best value for money traveler GMT right now, probably the Tudor's, right?

I’d say the best value for money travelers GMT would be either the Mido, Certina, or Alpina.Joeprez wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 1:15 pmI thought about you when I saw this watch, because same as yo,u I've always like the MM300, but I don't like how it wears on me (not only a tad big but very top heavy). The Certina is 42mm and the Alpina is 44mm, so a bit chunky as well.
This is the Mido
I don’t own one, but it is also reportedly a big boy at 44mm.
All of the above are $1k or less.

Re: New Seiko Thread
I didn't know those were traveler GMT's, thanks for the information. The Mido is very good looking, but I check and you're correct, its 44mm and that's a no go for me... too bad because I like it.
I forgot to add the Sinn 856 UTC and the new one model (Mike just got one), but no idea if those are traveler or caller GMTs.

I think anything with an ETA 2893-2 or similar (such as the Sellita 330-2) are all caller GMT movements.Joeprez wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 2:08 pmI didn't know those were traveler GMT's, thanks for the information. Ironically enough, I click on the Seiko thread, yet I end up longing for a Doxa more….

Those are really nice, I had an 857 UTC, great watch. Was close to getting an 856 but ended up with the BB58 Pro.

Re: New Seiko Thread
I don’t think you can go wrong with the Tudor. In house, from the house of Rolex? No negativity from me whatsoever.
I’d be happy with a Tudor GMT as well.
I just think the Seiko design being a functional diver’s watch with the GMT scale is more useful for me.
Plus, being a cheap bastard who is also staring down the twin barrels of children’s college education, I like the price tag of the Seiko!
Re: New Seiko Thread
Anyone see the new Seiko 5 Sports 55th Anniversary Limited Edition?
Or three new SKX Sports Style watches?
The Limited Edition takes you back to 1968 with it's design. Having a 39.5mm
tonneau-shaped case, rotating bezel with Lumibrite lume pip, black dial with
neat markings and hands, calibre 4R36, stainless steel bracelet, and more.
Then the new SKX Sports Style models also give you the classic SKX feel
thanks to 42.5mm cases, eye-catching unidirectional rotating bezels with
Lumibrite pips once again, silver, black, and orange dials, stainless steel
bracelets, and calibre 4R36 too.
