Like everything about it except for the day indicator.

I thought that was a power reserve.

It’s the one thing I would change.
$775 from Seiya…..
Mmmmhhhhh……
I was thinking about this one until I realized it was radio, not GPS. Here in Ohio, I have trouble getting my radio G-Shocks to sync.

I like the Astron and as far as I can remember the Astrons have been stupidly huge. I would definitely wear this one.

Also couple questions for you guys that are smarter than me:
1/ what do you think is the purpose of the 24h inner bezel?
2/ about the subdial at 6: I suppose the hour hand is 24h like a glycine airman original?
Thanks
Hi Andrea,

1. The inner index is showing time zones, not a 24 hour scale. If the function is similar to the GPS version, you pull out the crown and the seconds hand points to the time zone. Set by rotating the crown. For example, here in Ohio (EST), pull the crown and rotate until the seconds hand points at -5 (-4 for DST).

2. I'm guessing yes on 24 hour hand, based on the 24 indication on the subdial. Should be able to set separately for a second time zone.

Yeah, most GPS Astrons are around 2k, plus or minus. Some of the 5X-series GPS Astrons are down to around 42.8mm x 12.3mm, so a lot less clown size than they were.

I kinda like this one:

Hey guys, did you have time to see the 2021 Seiko Prospex Black Series?

The series includes the Monster, Tuna, and Samurai. With each of the
new watches having 200m water resistance, as well as Hardlex crystals,
nice black dials with beige Lumibrite lume, and sleek unidirectional bezels.

First up, the Monster gives you a 42.4mm PVD coated stainless steel
case, cool rubber strap, along with Seiko 4R36 beneath it all.

Then there is the Tuna with it's 46.7mm black PVD case, solar
powered V157 movement, and sporty rubber strap.

Image

Next you have the Samurai with it's 43.8mm PVD case, stealthy rubber
strap, and Seiko 4R35 behind everything..

Image

Image

All three next to one another...

Horologii, Monochrome, and Seiko with much more for you...

Did I miss where the new 39mm solar divers were released? If not, here's one color:

Samurai is kinda cool and the Monster would have been OK without that huge wart over the day/date.

The Solar Tuna is cool but would need a shroud upgrade from the plastic. It does make a difference.

David, I think you said it all, and what a lot of us were actually
thinking about these.

I actually didn’t even notice the cyclops on the Monster when
posting. But yes, they really could have just left that off sir.
And the Tuna would have been terrific with a steel shroud.
You are so right once again. :salute:

Out of the three, the Samurai looks the nicest, and also the
meanest ! 8-)

Have to thank you just for looking, and of course giving your
thoughts David !!!

Yeah I paid much less for a real MM300 last summer. This one is an LE, but the prices of the mid-range Seikos are really climbing. Lots of competition at these price points. The first gen MM200s strike a nice compromise between price and quality. The new watches, while objectively pretty great, are priced higher than I would want to spend.

Seeing the prices of these new MM300 wannabe's really makes me appreciate my SBDX001 even more.

Price is way too high but I have to say I’ve been smitten with my SPB187 in the four months or so that I’ve had it. I wear it almost every day, even more than my Sub. For my wrist, the size/thickness makes it immensely more wearable and the overall fit and finish is highly comparable to the MM300 other than the movement (which I did get lucky with in mine).

For me, even better and the OG M200 worked really well for me as well. I’d most liken it to an SKX on the wrist I guess, but with super high fit/finish. They are really well done IMO.

For that price I would expect the bracelet to fit the watch better
