I like this one a lot. Japanese LE with baseball player Shohei Ohtani. Model # is SBDC191.
I just can't get over that case/bracelet design. Sorry to people who love it, but it just looks CHEAP to me. The fit is crap. The radial brushing on the case juxtaposed to the vertical brushing on the bracelet. The soft edges of the bracelet juxtaposed to the all sharp all over case. I really don't like it.
It looks like a decent watch that someone fitted to the shittiest totally generic aftermarket bracelet that they could find on eBay.
In fact, I'm not sure that I've ever seen a watch with this case design look good on a bracelet. Even watches that are clearly very very high quality. This design should be strap-only.

Have you guys seen that one?
Which has details like a 42.6mm stainless steel case, uni-directional bezel with
black ceramic insert, cool gradient blue dial with "underwater cave" pattern on
it, calibre 8L35, 3-link stainless steel bracelet, and much more.
https://monochrome-watches.com/seiko-pr ... ecs-price/
I read about this one. Same case as the LE Save the Ocean model (SLA055?) and same 8L35 movement, but without the special steel treatment. so it’s “normal” stainless steel. Still too expensive for what it is.
I like it. I don't think anyone does textured dials as well as Seiko. However, what's going on with the date wheel color? In one of the pictures it looks like they photoshopped it to a nice blue color, whereas the other ones are ultra dark/black.

It’s a black date wheel. While I prefer black date wheels, it’d look better on a darker blue.
This model looks sweet but Seiko always finds a way to dick around on what could’ve been a great piece.

I like that Seiko has upped their price for their "non-GS nice watches" from $1000-1500 to $3500+ in a few years but their movements still have shit guaranteed accuracy.
I know they usually do better, but I had a MM300 that was doing +16spd, contacted Seiko and was told to pound sand. I sold it as I could not deal with it (and I paid $1200 or so!)
Tudor is by far the best value for money today in the "not so unaffordable luxury" game of $2500-5000.
If I can get a BB58 second hand for $2700 or so why do I have to buy a Seiko?
They still do such a great job on the cheaper stuff though

Back in the 1970’s a Seiko diver cost almost as much as a Rolex Submariner.

Did everyone see these new gold tone, and accented Seiko 5 Sports
watches?
The Seiko 5 Sports U.S. Special Creation models have 42.5mm stainless
steel cases with gold finish, or without. black, or gold bezels, black, blue,
brown, or gray dials, Calibre 4R36, and stainless steel bracelets with all
gold finishes, or two-tone.

Regarding radial case brushing, your Rolex 5 digits are the same way. End links look better in person and bracelet is well made, but yeah this case design is made for a NATO.

Good point RE Rolex. However, Rolex endlinks are somehow less flat looking. It's the flat flat case and the flat flat bracelet.
I'm sure that you're right that it looks better in person. Seiko pictures are SHIT.

Never judge a Seiko by its rendering. They are all complete shit. It’s actually impressive they can even make some of the GS watches look like a Fossil.

I don't think they can make it thin enough with the 8L.

It is a 6L movement. This movement was used in the Seiko Brightz series. It is not a part of the 6r series. Funny if I recall the Soprod A10 was derived from it.

I like Seiko but they have never ending LE, LE, LE, LE....... and I don't follow them anymore. IMHO the best Seiko LEs are in year 2000-2010.

I read you sir, I don't get the prices either.
Honestly, the dial and everything about the watch is cool, but not that cool right?!
It's a fun one to see, as well as talk about though Hoppy, so thanks so so much for
giving your thoughts !!!

Wow, you know they do remind me of all those two tones we saw in the 80's,
you are totally right dude.
It's cool as long as the gold tone wouldn't rub off right?!
Honestly, it's just THE best hearing what you and all of you guys have to say !
I genuinely can't thank you enough !!!

Nothing wrong structurally with any of their movements, it just feels like they could dial in the accuracy a bit before selling.

I like Seiko, but I’ve never had a Seiko that I liked the bracelet and end link fit. They’re awkward at best to flat out terrible on every diver.

My SKX007 was the only Seiko I miss. It rattled on the jubilee and looked like it had already lived a few lives before I got it (and it had), but it was so iconic and never gave me a lick of trouble. I let on of my kids talk me out of it. You (I) can’t keep them all.

Sounds like you need a 6309 or 6306 in your life. They get a lot of wrist time from me

Seiko is a little tainted for me right now. My SARG009 blew up after running like crap. Fixed it, then almost had to give it away. I’m having a lot more success lately with microbrands sporting reliable movements. Love some of the Seiko looks, but now loving hassles and stories from others about how janky they run.

Have we heard any updates on what the new Marine Master 300 is going to look like? Seems like Seiko is still releasing some LE's with that discontinued case. Some websites are suggesting the MM300 is done but that doesn't make much sense.

Seiko is releasing yet another 62MAS re-edition, the SJE093. Looks very much like the SLA017, but this one has the specs of the original, with a 38×46×12.5mm case, making it the truest re-edition yet. I know most here prefer bigger watches, but for me this could possibly be my exit watch. Comes with an all new movement, the 6L37, which beats at 28,800 bph and allows the watch to be thinner than the 8L35 watches. This one is limited to 1965. Not cheap at 3700 euro, don't know the US pricing yet.

I’ve been kicking the tires on a SLA043 blue 62mas, but this is super nice.
This one is so good!
