SLA055 LE of 1300

200m, 42.6mm diameter, 8L35 movement, Ever-brilliant steel case ( Seiko’s version of 904L), Chocolate bar strap. Hopefully Seiko doesn’t make it thicker than 13.5mm.

Price? I’m guessing $4.5k

If they could keep that at or around $3k I’d be interested. Black dial version would be more likely to get my money too. Nice size, nice movement.

The bezel insert font looks cartoonish to me...

Those would be close to perfect for a Seiko if they lost the date.

I want one of these but price is steep. It ticks all the boxes, isn't mm300 thick, and I'm fine with the date. I guess it's the poor man's GS diver.

It’s like they tried out the size with the SPB185/187 (which is amazing IMO), realized it works really really well, and then went for the Seiko Gucci treatment on this one. It’s gotta be a nice watch.

So expensive. I really am not sure how they justify the price.

Seiko definitely charges a premium for their “Ever Bright” 904L steel. I’m glad it doesn’t have the DiaShield treatment. They’re LE too, SLA057 -1,300 pieces and SLA057 600 pieces. Seiko finally makes a sub 43mm 8L35 diver that’s 13mm thin. I have a feeling these will be sold out by the end of January.

One thin for sure, it’s going to wear great on the wrist with its perfectly curved mid case and recessed case back.

That looks great and the side pic is super yummy.
I can't do above 41mm any more, but that's a great, great offering from Seiko
Same... Seiko / GS keep releasing stunning divers and I always get my hopes up until I see the size.

A 40-41mm Spring Drive diver looking something like this would be one watch territory for me for sure.

If you're going to charge $4K plus for a watch, I think you need to do better than claim +10 to -15 seconds accuracy (regardless of how the movement performs in real life). That's Tudor or (pre-owned) Omega co-axial price territory. The movement should perform accordingly.

This 100%. Pricing is right in line with the BB58 lineup which are all chronometers. Seiko's movement is 100% capable of this so if they are going to charge this much they really need to regulate it and provide better specs.

Yeah I don’t begrudge them this aggressive price increase strategy, but they then have to deliver the goods. That’s a very good movement, but much better regulation is a must at that price point.

Also, and I know many don’t agree, but that Prospex logo isn’t great and I don’t want it on any Seiko I’m paying that much money for.

I'm not sure if you guys have already seen these new Alpinist models.

It's the Seiko Prospex 1959 Alpinist Modern Re-Interpretation “Deep Lake”
and “Forest Brown”. With the watches you have blue, and brown dials with
eye-catching hands, and markers. Along with details like 38mm stainless
steel cases, 200m WR, sapphire crystals, Calibre 6R35 movement, plus
leather straps, and stainless steel bracelets also.

Just a few pics...
