I just noticed that Harold has a better version in stock now. I may order one and switch it out.

Those look horrible.

Harold's "big lume dot" insert looks great. It looks like the early 6309-style insert.

If anything else, the original SKX007 insert looks great as well. Strong lume, too.

I thought the same thing Cesar-
Wu and Nick, why don't you have the stock insert?
Mine is an SBBN007, which came with a SS insert. I replaced it with an insert from Yobokies, which is engraved/pvd like the 015 but has the big pip and fatter letters. I also brushed the shroud and installed hex screws. I would install the 015 insert if I could source one.

Oh yeah- I remember your thread now from a whole back.

I thought I was told they the 015 insert had to be replaced with a whole bezel and the insert doesn't just pop out? Ill have to look that up again.

I think you'll love the Darth, Paul. It's a tough watch, similar to other watches that you like.

Wu- how does the sapphire look compared to the hardlex? Big difference?

Curious as well. I never scratched the hardlex, but would have considered the sapphire upgrade if I still had the watch and had scratched it.

Nope - visually I couldn't tell at all. Seems about the same in terms of reflections, glare, etc....

Really, what is so horrible? Looks similar to stock to me. I like that they are engraved PVD similar to stock. Thought about the stock skx007 but prefer the matte/engraved look. I dunno. Still thinking about it. May see if Rob/Monster has stock inserts.

I'm planning to replace the crystal with sapphire as well, so I will do it all at one time. Per the resource below, the Tuna crystal is screwed in with a retainer ring, which makes changing easier. I've already picked up a few noticeable scratches in the Hardlex.

Rob may have a good price on the entire 015 bezel assembly. Might give that a try?

The reason those look horrible is because they attempted to recreate the 015 insert and failed. Like a Fiero Ferrari.

Don't ever listen to Cesar unless you're anal about details. Dude is OCD about Seiko.

I don't get Seiko modders. What is this thread about anyway?

How to fight off a "Darth Tuna" in the event it tries to commit a home invasion on you.

I now have multiple, multiple scratches in my hardlex. I think the newer ones are from my dogs teeth.

I don't like the big bump pip. I remember my first tsunami came in and I was completely thrown off by it.
