SEIKO NOOKA Quirky new 90's digital arrival, quite different

Post by BramleyGreg » Wed Jan 29, 2014 11:52 am

Had this 1990's piece land with me a couple of weeks ago, and it's quite the odd hefty bird!

It appears to be a joint venture between fashion brand Nooka (pioneered / owned by New York designer / artist Matthew Waldman).

Here's a little info:

It came quite polished, and after having Googled around, I realised that it needed a 'dumbing' and 'dulling' down.

I've given her a run over for a half-hour or so earlier with a Bergeon pen, not the easiest of tasks. However, for a first effort, she's dulled down quite okay (for a first pass), and I'll have another pass at her midweek.

Google is a legend when it comes to helping, after a carefully worded search, I got the original instruction manual up, so I have set her since.

Bit of a 'Marmite' piece, you probably love it or hate it. I think it has retro appeal, and is quite a reasonably sized piece. So a Seiko, some digital, and a decent heft, all in one go.

... and a couple of shots on the wrist... she doesn't fit yet (fasten at the clasp), I need links or possibly just a clasp extender...

That looks pretty cool. I think nooka did some stuff recently with different bright colors, but this one looks much cooler imo
