Nice, but would be better without the compass markings. Just a little too busy.

No, hadn't seen that one. Looks good, but maybe it's my gorilla taste but the alpinist line has always seemed a little too fancy. Like the Breguet-style cathedral hands.
I do definitely have a type, though: boring diver.

I agree - but, I do like the Grand Seiko influence on the face.

I really like this
One possible snag is the potential looseness of the inner chapter ring when any slight move rotates the bezel. I liked the old Bremont click internal bezel where the bezel was only moved intentionally
I’m usually an easy going guy but random bezel moment really harshes my mellow
Does anyone know If the crown for the inner bezel is screwdown or at least has reasonable tension to it?

In the older models (I had a couple SARB017) it was very easily turned

For me this is too much. I just don't like it. I would like to see some Alpinist models in bigger size (41‐42mm), also some high accuracy quartz; that is kind of lost and it would be great to have them again.

I would have put the 24hr bezel where the inner compass bezel is.

Yes that would be awesome. It would allow for
Slimmer profile
“Real” GMT function
Avoiding the crappy 6r movements
