AFAIK- SLA077 & SLA079Chocodove wrote:New MM300 looks good. Date not ideal. What are the specs and reference numbers??
No specs ATM.
I do wish: “PROFESSIONAL” was on the dial like the SBDX001..etc
8L35 underneath the hood.
Thinner like the SLA055/057
Like Ed, I’m digging the white dial version

Re: New Seiko Thread
I'd prefer no date, but I do think it's an improvement over the lume pip at 3 covering the chapter ring. Don't love the Marinemaster font either, but overall I like it. Curious to see if it's any thinner than previous MM300s, but I'm not holding my breath.Chocodove wrote:New MM300 looks good. Date not ideal. What are the specs and reference numbers??

Re: New Seiko Thread
According to Yonsson, these are just re-dialed SLA 073/075 except for the 300m & MARINEMASTER on the dial.

Re: New Seiko Thread
These look great. Wonder if they will find a way to make it a solid caseback and still keep it to 13mm thick. I figure they have to differentiate it a bit from the 200m version.
Hopefully they kept the replaceable crown tube on these like the 200m models.

Here's a quick video of what I guess is the new MM300.

I’d wear that. The white dial is nice too.jswing wrote:Here's a quick video of what I guess is the new MM300.

Took away all the cool visuals from the original. No thanks.

I actually prefer the white dial. I don't necessarily think I'll get one, but I like it ok.hoppyjr wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2024 9:17 amI’d wear that. The white dial is nice too.jswing wrote:Here's a quick video of what I guess is the new MM300.

Re: New Seiko Thread
I agree, I won't be trading in my SBDX017 for one. I think it's a pretty decent looking watch, but I prefer the OG style.BBK357 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2024 9:26 amOof… that’s a downgrade to me.jswing wrote:Here's a quick video of what I guess is the new MM300.

Re: New Seiko Thread
I think this "new" MM300 is disappointing. The MM300 used to be unique. No screw down caseback, little thick etc. While this is a really nice watch , there is nothing really exciting about it. Glad I have an SLA021 (wish I had an 017 but I can't find a nice one) and an SLA043 as that checks the boxes for me for cool seiko divers. I wouldn't buy one of these new ones unless it was on a massive discount (more than 50% off)
Re: New Seiko Thread
Agree. Everyone seems to love these. But to me they are a major step backwards from the real MM300s.Mr_Pacman wrote:I think this "new" MM300 is disappointing. The MM300 used to be unique. Re: New Seiko Thread
These are a perfect example of the "new and improved" are not always "improved."
Re: New Seiko Thread
It’s ok. I’d wear it for sure. but it sucks compared to the old one and I am sure it’s twice the cost. The size is the biggest selling point for me.

Re: New Seiko Thread
I'm glad that the SLA021/23 don't seem to be going anywhere. I like these new Marinemaster designs as well, but they're certainly not the MM300.
Although having had every generation, I still hold that the 001 is the best of the MM300's.

Re: New Seiko Thread
Saw this new Seiko Presage Style60’s Europe L.E.
Have you guys checked it out?
It has a 40.75mm stainless steel case, non rotating metallic dark
blue bezel, brushed blue dial, stainless steel bracelet, beige nylon
fabric strap, along with Calibre 4R35 and more.

Thanks AT, that Seiko Presage is sweet.

Re: New Seiko Thread
That Presage does look nice, although I think the tan strap is an odd choice that doesn't look good. I wouldn't buy one, because the non turning "dive" bezel would drive me nuts.
