WW1 Zenith US Army Corp of engineers pocket watch
WW1 Zenith US Army Corp of engineers pocket watch
Sort of been on a military WW1 timepiece spree. Since a lot of the military timepiece from WW2 to the 1990's some a-hole been buying them up for a investment instead of the passion a military collect has for them for there history. I found that WW1 stuff not under the a-hole radar who are ruining my hobby have under looked WW1 so I been finding deals. Was searching for a vintage zenith railroad wristwatch on eBay and this popped up in the search a WW1 issued US Army Corp of Engineers pocket watch I have not bought a pocket watch in years since I got a lot of US issued pocket watches from WW2. Those WW2 ones been going up in price on eBay at silly prices and never sell so now I avoid them would like to get the Waltham version of the Hamilton 4992B navigation pocket watch one day do got the Hamilton and Elgin version. But this is the first WW1 issued pocket watch in the collection. When I spotted this the price was so cheap from what I seen them sold in the past I jumped on it. A few photo's the seller's.
It does have some cool hands the sub second hand is kind of cool how it is lumed that's what made me buy it. The movement from Zenith at this time seemed the same design just some large and some made smaller.
My Zenith special I bet the same size movement.
My WW1 issued Zenith US Army Signal Corps wristwatch smaller movement size as you see they all sort of look the same.

Definitely very cool. I’m very glad to see these pieces of history preserved.
You’ve got to think that watch was a pretty important piece of equipment for a Corp of Engineers soldier in WW 1.
