Heuer diver bracelet recommendations

Post by robertjwarren » Mon Aug 18, 2014 11:12 am

Hi all

Im new here. I just pulled this back out of the watch drawer and have been wearing it for a couple of days and the strap keeper broke so now im thinking of a beads of rice or similar stainless bracelet for it. It would be very much appreciated to receive some recommendations from the group.

A basic jubilee would look good and the hollow end links would be easy to bend to adjust to the shape of the case to fill the lugs.

Hi Robert, and welcome.

Looks like an early 844 to me.
Rolex Sub 5513 / 1680 oyster bracelets fit these almost perfectly. If you hunt on ebay, you'll find a raft of sellers offering aftermarket bracelets for those Rolex models.. ranging in quality and price from £20 to £50. Search for 'sub oyster bracelet'. (20mm).
I'm not sure the Seiko bracelets will fit, as they are usually 22mm.

For a short period, these early 844's were supplied with oyster bracelets, so it would retain it's OEM look. These were short-lived, and Heuer switched to jubilee bracelets. I'm not aware of any aftermarket jubilees that fit well.

Here is one I fitted to one of my Heuer divers..

Couldn't he also get a Seiko 22m oyster or jubilee and then file the endlinks down to fit the case?

Possibly.. but I don't know if the curve of the end link will fit the case, also, the first few links would stick out 1mm each side.. which could foul the lugs. IMHO it would be a punt in the dark.

I must have gone through 30 of these divers, and I've never found an aftermarket jubilee end link that fits well. The aftermarket Rolex oysters fit very well. If you could find an aftermarket jubilee that fits a Tudor Sub or Rolex sub, then that would fit.

I have an aftermarket rolex on this same case. It fits just perfectly.
