One of my Dads Watches

Post by River Rat » Sat May 17, 2014 6:19 am

Well when I got the shadow box this watch was with it. It's a Bulova 23 jewel that was the model was called looked it up on the net. This model was made from the 1950's to the 1960's this one had MO on the case back that dated it to 1960 two years after I was born. It was missing spring bars and strap so out of the parts box I put those on it. Still keeps time but will need a service and maybe a new crystal properly never been serviced and will cost more than it's worth but it was my Dads and maybe I will wear it on every Fathers day to remember him. They sold for 50-65 bucks back in the 1960's a lot of money back then notice that date watches were scarce people were happy just with a 23 jewel automatic wristwatch and no date.

Well buffed the case a little and used a lot of polywatch and it looks a little better running a little slow still needs a service.
