V-Mac Vintage Diver

The piece definitely has some history with it's beautiful wabi, it looks like it was used as intended. It has a classic shaped case, typical of the time period. One of the coolest features is the original time period vintage Bond strap with vintage buckle. It totally adds to the overall look.

The case appears to be mirror finished chrome plated brass. The bezel has a black finish, which is worn on the edges and shows the steel base metal and the lume pip at 12:00 is lume paint filed. The minute markers are white paint filled which now have a yellowed patina.
The dial has the "V-Mac" name with a crown logo. It also says "100% WATERPROOF, ANTIMAGNETIC" in the lower area of the dial. At the very bottom edge of the dial is the wording "SWISS MOVT, HONG KONG MADE DIAL". The movement appears to be a hand winder but seems like it needs some cleaning and lubing. I wound it several times and with a little shake of the watch the seconds hand starts to sweep for about 5 seconds but then stops.

The crystal is the domed/bubble raised vintage acrylic style. It was originally hazed over when I purchased it but I used a little Renaissance polishing wax and buffed it out.

Case back pic... It looks like someone was a little heavy handed with the opening tool at one point in it's life.

Like I said above, The watch came on a vintage Bond strap. Close examination and also the feel of the material tells me it is vintage to the time period and not new. It also has the original plated buckle.

Remarkably, the lume on this watch is still very strong. It could possibly had a relume at sometime in it's life...

Another cool thing is that the watch came with the original plastic box and warranty paperwork. The box is a hinged two piece configuration with a red velvet lining and a paper name insert glued to the inside of the top lid.

The folded warranty paperwork is pretty cool in itself and is a great representation of the time period. When new the watch came with a two year warranty. The charge for parts, labor and shipping: $2.00. And if you want extras.... 95¢ for a bracelet, .50¢ for a crystal. HA!!

If any of you guys can provide any info on this watch let me know. I'll probably send it out to have the movement serviced. Not sure yet if I'll keep it in the collection as a cool addition or put it up FS.
Thanks for viewing.
