Wolverine 1000 Mile Boots Just In

Post by jad3703 » Mon Jan 07, 2013 4:32 pm

So, just received the Wolverine 1000 Mile Boots in black from my guy out west (Alberta, to be precise, which I still miss, all these years later).

These are simply awesome boots. Very well made, comfortable as all heck right out of the box and they look fantastic, too. Very impressed. And the price is better than any other that I could have gotten in either Canada or the USA. And they threw in a tin of Red Wing Shoes boot dressing as well as a pair of Red Wing socks. And awesome customer service (free shipping, the afore-mentioned swag, as well as the swag I got with the Iron Rangers last time around, lowest prices that I found anywhere).

A crappy iPad pic for now.

Regards,

James

I'm done for a while, Alex. The Frau announced a "down-south" travel plan for March Break, so my play money is ... drastically reduced.

And for you, Chris: :bird: yep, my camera skills, especially with an iPad, suck badly.

But these are freaking nice boots.

What little I can see looks good. Take a decent picture and repost! I may need to order a pair.

Yep, you nailed it, John. These are rock-solid boots. And I will be able to wear them with everything from jeans to cords to chinos.

Yes, I am wearing them with fleece technicals ... major fashion faux, as the Frau laughingly pointed out, also. I suck, but considering the kind of shitty day I have had, I just cannot muster the energy to give a shit about having offended the Fashionista God ... until tomorrow.

Tough crowd ...

Brice, I'll do one tomorrow, when I am NOT wearing fleece technicals and NOT making a fashion numpty of myself.

But these are pretty solid boots, all around. Wolverine's done it right.

C'est vrai, mon ami. Mais, j'ai vintage-sept ans dans les FC. C'est une pointe de decision, je pense. Et peut-être.

James, what size did you get? As you know, I wear I 9D and am probably going to order a pair of the 1000K, or the wingtip 1000K. My Wolverine chukkas are 9, but are right at the brink of being too large. Are these a 1/2 size down boot?

If you have a D width foot-1/2 size down would work for the boots. I have an E width foot so I went true to size at 9D for the wider width. A little long but then again the differance in length between whole sizes is 1/3 inch. Compared to my RW Rangers and Beckmans at 8.5 the Wolverines at 9 are the same length.

Hey, David.

Got 9EEE in the 5300 (Black). Comfortable and slightly roomy, although I wear thick socks and insoles, so it it perfect. I wear 9 in Danner, 9EE in Red Wing Iron Rangers (I may have been able to slip into a 8.5EEE but did not want to risk it). I down-sized between 1/2 and a full size from my running shoes / "normal" footwear.

And I would consider getting the boots from my guy in Alberta. $279.99, free shipping, no hassles on returns.
