Ridge wallet any good? Alternatives?

Post by sierra11b » Fri Nov 29, 2024 9:22 am

Find myself getting lazier on my days off and wearing draw-string pants or shorts for comfort.

Unfortunately, they don't really support the weight of a traditional bi-fold and I find myself putting a few cards and some cash in a ziplock bag wrapped with a rubber band. Ghetto.

Wondering what minimalist options are available which don't make me look like a complete bum.

I had one and returned it. I found it a PITA to get the right card out without pulling them all out. I ended up with something cheap like this from Amazon. I've had it for 5 years and love it.

Ridge is so overpriced. I got the knockoff and think the quality is identical if not better.

I’ve got a brand new in box Fantom wallet. It’s aluminum and has black leather insert. Nice quality. 8-13 card capacity.

$60 to your door via USPS

I’ve been using this for a year and still love it. Would never go back to a normal wallet. https://www.ekster.com/

Ridge wallet any good? Alternatives?

I’ve used a titanium Ridge for maybe four years. Zero complaints. They already sent me a spare elastic free of charge in case this one ever breaks.

I have the same wallet and have for five years. Got away from my bifold saddleback due to its thickness. Travelambo is thin and keeps everything organized.

I’ve been using an OG 3-pocket Slimmy for over 20 years now (I’ve owned 4 over that period). They come in a variety of leathers and styles, and once you go front pocket wallet, you’ll never go back.

I’ve been using a Saddleback front pocket wallet for years. https://saddlebackleather.com/leather-wallet-mens-front

The design seems to have changed a little bit since I bought mine, but it works well for my needs. Takes a beating too.

Secrid makes great wallets that are tiny and protect from CC cloning.
Come in different shapes and sizes, top notch quality.

I use a Ridge and would stay with it. They are great for carrying but access to the cards is not super easy. Not a problem for me as I tap my phone for the most part.

Hi guys,

I love minimalist wallets and tried several over the years. I was disappointed with Fantom wallet, found it far more bulky that it seems.
I have settled for 2 at the moment. Currently using Goove Life and Walter Wallet.
The Groove Life I wanted one that slides up and it has the latch at the top to hold cards in. It's OK but I find the surface quite smooth when you slide it up but otherwise it's ultra slim, holds 6 cards.
My favourite though is Walter Wallet. They are from Holland and ultra minimal. They hold 6 cards, ultra slim. It is the smallest one I have found so far in relation to card size. And it's the cheapest. All metal case and available in a range of colours. The only ripening have is if are not holding a finger above the cards, when they 'pop up' they can shoot out.ImageImage

If you want something thin

I’ve had mine for 7 years. Not 1 tear.
