White GShock

Post by DIAMONDHEAD » Thu Apr 25, 2024 1:29 pm

Question for the experts here. Those that own white GShocks, do they stay white with basic care? Does the finish discolor with age? How does it take daily scuffs and scratches...very noticeable? I am liking this one in the pic. Something different for the beach. Thanks for all your feedback!

I have a yellow GShock and it’s sadly picked up a lot of color from my sweat shirts. Casio said send it in, I’m gonna throw it away.

Wow! Does the Magic Eraser get any of the color transfer off the bezel area? Doesn't look that bad on yellow, but white would look like crap. Thanks for sharing.

I have a matte white 6900 and going off my memory it’s not yellow but I wear it like twice a year. I’ve had color bleed into it tho and it has came off over time. You’ll have better luck if it’s a glossy finish over a matte finish. I say just wear it and be happy.

And Wario don’t throw it away send it to me! Haha

I’m thinking WD40 will do the trick. Spray a little on a toothbrush and try and clean it off with that. Then throughly wash with soap and water. If that doesn’t work, maybe try lighter fluid.

Don’t throw it away. The case is easily replaced and that one is perfect for a mod.

Yep, you can find replacement parts on eBay. I’ve had a lot of fun modding gshock 5600’s (and other models) throughout the years.

Regarding whtite gshocks, as mentioned the matte ones can get color bleed, the shinier ones usually hold on better. But again, buy it, wear it, enjoy it, replace the case / strap afterwards.

Didn’t work, and took the “GShock” lettering off :-(

Cool, thanks. I just want a black case and strap. Looking for that now.

I ordered another yellow case - I’ll have to wear it sparingly. Be happy to let someone have it once it’s updated for a reasonable price.
