Finally got off my ass and bought a new G for working out and for when I am in the bush (rare these days, being that I am a pasty-faced staff officer who is basically a keyboard chimpanzee). But there is something about Gs that I just love. And this one is checking all of those boxes for me.

Ain't nothing wrong with those! I got a similar tide-graph model as a gift for a friend who surfs regularly, and he loves it.

Have never been a big G fan but that is cool! Nice pickup, James!

Love it James!
I have a different coloured version of the same model & they wear the most comfortable of any G-Shock I've ever owned.

Thanks, All. This is a rock-solid beast and actually wears well when I am in combats (field uniform)' so this one is going to stay around for a while, me thinks.

Nice James.
I have that exact one. I ended up crazy glueing the 'decorative bolts' on to keep them from moving and spinning.
Enjoy your rescue!

Nice choice, James.

I have recently been a G kick myself.

Nice looking G-Shock. How is the readability? It seems more legible than earlier negative display Casios?

I've found readability to be OK. Not as good as a normal display of course, but good in terms of negative displays. It's got a good backlight too

Yep, good readability, especially in low-light or using the back-light (which is also subdued and doesn't light up a room when it goes on, which was always a piss-off because it screwed up one's night-vision). And I cranked it against the bench press rack this morning and ... nothing. Awesome tool watch.
And super-comfortable. The case-strap flanges make it rest nicely on the wrist.
