One...and done?

Post by mattcantwin » Wed Apr 13, 2011 4:28 pm

I can't say I have been totally swept up by G-Shock fever after it seems to have recently
afflicted the DWC membership.

Yet, I realized I missed the one I had and gave away and knew I would "have to" own one again.

Looked at posts here (informative) and at WUS (overwhelming) and looked several times at
what eBay had to offer (astounding).

After some reflection, I realized I wanted a G-Shock to wear on occasions I did not care what happened
to the watch I was wearing. I did not want it to compete for wrist time with the other watches that I would like
to wear more often. So, it did not have to be an amazing acquisition.

I also hit Jay up for some guidance, he seems to know something about everything.

The watch arrived today, cost under $90, and was partially paid for with eBay bucks from my Seawolf purchase.

It is a GWM5600-1 Tough Solar with multi-band 5, etc., etc.

I am obviously going to have to read the manual as today is not the 14th.

I was able to change that with a bit of playing around, but the time was not correct.

Sooner or later, I will find the right band and the watch will mysteriously re-set itself (I hope).

It is a relatively small sized G-Shock, but has the features I want. From what I can see, many of the
larger versions have just about the same size display, and that was my primary concern.

If all goes according to plan, this one G-Shock is it, and I'm fine with that.

Matt,
that's the G I really want. It has all the features a person could ever want in a G, in a reasonably sized package, and hits all the right '80s nostalgia notes for me. Nicely done.

This is exactly how I feel about G's and the main reason I will never own more than one. My second, the Rescue Orange Gulfman now officially belongs to my 3 year old. He can't get the date and time to match either Matt.

How did you set the time? Manually or did you sync it? Make sure that you set the home time to the right time zone and then try to sync it again.

Congrats Matt, great choice G.

I had and miss my GWM5600bc reverse display w/composite bracelet which was best IMO.

Careful, G's are addictive.
