New type of NATO strap

Post by River Rat » Mon Aug 31, 2020 2:33 pm

Just got a remake of what the original NATO straps were like years ago before the switch to nylon.

Even has the type of hardware and the issued stamp on back and webbing material that was used. You put in you own hole for the buckle. The seller in England he put the wrong state so did two trips over the Atlantic ocean to get it. Any one interested link below of the sellers web site. One thing the strap material soft not like the canvas strap I got from Drew that had to get broke in.

One thing about strap is the watch slides easy so taking it off or on the wrist the watch can slide off the strap and on the ground if not carful nylon NATO don’t have that problem they don’t slide. He does have a type of nylon NATO in the works mite try one when he starts selling those. Still a OK strap as long as your careful putting it on and off. Mite be a bigger gap on the lugs of the Omega 52 fat arrow than other watches.

Looks the same. It comes with no holes in the strap for buckle the best way to fit it is put it on the wrist pull strap through buckle until it has proper fit the buckle piece that goes through the hole will make the hole works best than a leather punch.

The OD green and black are 17.5mm only, but the khaki comes in 17.5, 20. and 22mm. Lengths can be customized.

Cool strap, I had my MBII on one for a bit. He's just released the precursor to the current NATO on kickstarter.

Rob also got this new NATO 6B/2617 the originals made in 1954 but for smaller the lug size mite be a turn off for some here the first ones I know are for vintage military watches were the lugs are smaller. I ordered one for my Omega 53 and should work on the Hamilton 6B. Link below if any one interested.
