tropic-style 20x16 strap (squinky)

after looking at these for the longest time (and buying silicone ones from modena), i decided to buy one a week ago. the strap arrived within 7 days.

the finishing is rough. literally and figuratively. my wife examined the strap and quickly announced this strap must have been made by the chinese and said i couldn't have paid more than $9.99 for it.

on the wrist, leftover bits cut into my wrist. i've had to use an xacto blade to trim the parts digging into my flesh.

it's must better now, but if i squeezed the strap around my wrist with my other hand, it still hurts.

would i do it again? probably - i've been unable to find a 20x16 plastic/rubber-type strap and this is the closest i can find without splurging on a "swiss" tropic strap that may/may not break due to age.

the modena silicone straps are all 20x18mm and pretty short. these ones are much longer, by about an inch almost. the modena straps take only thin spring bars - these ones accept rolex bars without fuss.

i've bought a few leather 20x16 straps (jed's shell cordovan, hirsch regent, hirsch london) and they've all been >$100 so i guess this one is a bargain at 39.90 (shipped)...

pics to come.
