watchbandsonline.com question

Post by Ryeguy » Mon Feb 21, 2022 9:41 am

Anybody here ever buy a strap from them?

I'm looking for a 20mm BC 300 in yellow for my son's watch and they seem to be the only place that has them. I can find black, blue, and orange pretty much anywhere, but yellow seems to be a bit rare.

They seem to be based out of Denver Colorado, but the website looks crazy old and a bit sketchy.

Just looking to see if anyone has used them before and their experience.

thanks!

Haven’t ever dealt with the site you’ve referenced. There are a few silicone options on Amazon. Or buy an isofrane.

My son is only 13, so an Isofrane isn’t going to an option for him. I do like BC straps as they seem to balance quality and value.

I’ll keep looking around.

Check with Holben’s. Maybe they can order it for you if they don’t have it.

Thank you. Scurfa would’ve been my first choice if he offered yellow. It’s his favorite color, so I’m trying to find one for him.

Oh well, the search continues.

Watch Gecko has a yellow “Zulu diver” tropic (as well as the much more expensive OG tropic) on their site.

This company has yellow options. Haven’t dealt with them either. There’s another in UK that has an Isofrane style strap. Used to be on Amazon but not anymore. Will keep looking.

Archer, Shinola, Zuludiver have yellow rubber strap options. Cannot find the northern UK company. Maybe they went under.

Here’s an interesting find. Vintage watch shop in Cyprus called Localtime. They have a yellow Isofrane knockoff. Also many camo patterns. Anyone vacationing in Cyprus in the near future?

How large is your sons wrist and size of watch?

I used to sell BC straps and still have some 18 mm, but small problem with light colored straps is sometimes black (which is part of the color mix) can be seen in light colored straps which doesn't help in the sale and yellow not a quick seller (sold out the black 10x faster than blue, red and yellow).

I ask about wrist size as you can only size these straps down to a set size wrist. I think about 6.75" on a 40mm sized watch and thats cutting the strap sections down to the last holes

I know the owner, Andreas. Good dude. I’ve bought several vintage pieces from him. Highly recommended.

He’s a nice enough guy. Was very pleasant when he refunded me for the straps.

I bought an Iso knock-off from him when my daughter wanted a turquoise strap on her watch. I think I paid $15 for it. It wasn’t nearly the quality of one of Terry’s Magnums, but the color was right and it made my daughter happy so I’ll call it a win.

Mike at Holbens says he doesn’t carry yellow and the BC minimum order quantity is too much to make a special order.

It’s a good point on his wrist size. I’ll have to measure it to see if it could be cut down enough to fit.

I knew turquoise for my daughter was going to be a PITA, but never thought yellow would be such a chore.

Why not contact BC directly? They might be able to sell you one direct or point you to the direction of a shop with stock.

Does it have to be the BC300?
Will this work?

I stopped buying due to weight and slow sales. Those straps weigh a ton and a medium order could cost a bit in s/h

Also. Took almost 3 months to sell the last black 18 mm and they didn't want to make 22 mm as some were asking

Now they do and you can buy turquoise and a load of other colors they didn't have when I sold
