I had to go get this out. I never had an issue with a single strap.
What I usually do is hang the strap down like this then after it’s tight I put it on. No issues. I have had to add a drop of water on a screw once.
The first is a canvas I got from Roger and the other a new 111 strap.
Looking at what you said, the Aegir one is on top a new isofrane under it.
Here are a few different random ones I grabbed just now
Just let it hang as you strap it up. No issues.
