The 372 - how good is it actually?

Post by Americandave » Thu Aug 27, 2020 2:13 am

I’ve got a renewed love for sandwich dials with the 915. It’s just a tad bit....small.

Can 372 owners or past owners who flipped chime in on the upsides of the 372? The dial, the P3000, the sort of different 1950 case?

Am I wrong in thinking this might be the best PAM to own?

If you have the wrist for it, it's the best PAM. Everything about it is incredible (case, dial, and domed plexi).

Very comfortable, best of what Panerai has to offer in features in one package.

I have the 372 and a 000.....which to me represent the two best options.

The 372 doesn’t wear as crazy big to me, but it is big. It does not feel overly high wearing on the wrist, just lug to lug.

Only way to go is to try it. Or. 422/423 but there are differences in the sapphire ve plexi.

agree to all the above.
372 and 112 (g, so sausage dial) for me.
372 is probably too long lug to lug for my wrist, but i don't care, i love it.

I prefer something running on a watch visually so I opted for 422. Great looking watch but was too big for my almost 8-inch wrist so I sold it. 26mm lugs is too much strap as well, it’s like wearing a dog collar. YMMV

If Art thinks it's too big, it must wear huge.

It doesn't. I have a 7" wrist and it wears just fine. But everyone's wrist is shaped differently so I'd definitely try it on before buying.

I had a 422 and have a 7 1/2" wrist. I sold it because it was thick AND wide/long. I have a 48mm Breitling blackbird avenger that I still own because it wears better even though it's larger. LOVED the style, but just couldn't handle the size.

Love the watch. Wanted one bad.
Tried one now for a few hours and just couldn’t do it. It looked silly on my 7@ wrist. Not just the 47” wide case but it’s so darn long

It is one of the best Pams but it also didn’t work on my narrow but steel thewed wrist.

I agree. I’m a large guy and always felt the 372 was too big for me. My wrists are not enormous, though. I’ll take a 000 over it any day.

Chris, didn’t we check it out when it was introduced at the NY Boutique? I remember we were disappointed at the size.

Don’t do it! It’s only 100m WR. You’ll flood that case the second you wash your hands.

Long time back I bought what was supposed to be a 43mm Helson Ray and the guy sent me a 47mm Ray. Clown shown sums that experience up very well.

The vote tally was overwhelming. Trigger pulled and I found an incredible deal locally in Australia, went from itch to scratch in no time!

Thanks mate! It’s really by far the best Panerai I’ve ever owned or tried on, amazing case design, great dial and hands, just everything about it is cool
