In light of that challenge, Panerai launched the Luminor Due — meant for any occasion, formal or casual — and with it two recent models: the PAM00677 Luminor Due 3 Days Oro Rosso in 2016 and the new PAM00739 Luminor Due 3 Days Automatic Acciaio this year. They take the design of the standard Luminor diver but package it in a super-lithe case that won’t ruffle your shirt cuff. Coming in at a mere 10.5mm and 10.7mm thick respectively, they shed up to 40 percent of the standard Luminor 1950’s girth.

the WR i don't care about as i wouldn't wear in the water but springbars is just stupid IMO. It smacks of cheaping out to me.

If you're looking for a slimmer Radiomir that won't break the bank then a PAM512 (now discontinued) may be a good option. It uses Panerai's thinnest in-house handwind movement and is 42mm in diameter. It also has screwbars and 100m WR. I see them for sale all the time in the $4K range.

I just want shorter lugs not a thinner watch. Will never happen I’m sure.

They fixed a problem that didn't exist. PAMs shouldn't have spring bars.
