Looking forward to see what you think of it. I've wanted a NASA velcro strap for my Speedy for ages but could never decide which label i liked the most. Carl (gasgasbones) told me he would be making his version of the NASA strap again, last month,so that will be another one to think about.River Rat wrote:Well I ordered it.I will see if I like it.

Would love to see more of Carl's version. Liked the older ones I've seen in the past. Definitely would get one if I had a speedy.

Well you're not wrong at all. I'm the same way for the most part. If he had the bracelet with no box or papers I'd be considering it more-but it would be more money also. Bracelet is upwards of $500 new BTW. Its a personal thing but I'm pretty much the same way. Its not a steal right now at that price. I've bought watches before without box and papers but only at a steal of a price. They are a bitch to sell also so buyers use it as leverage to low ball.

The one I just got was made around 1974 the box proberly been gone for years I paid 1400.00.Think of it this way it's proberly cheaper because it don't have the box and papers and bracelet you can pay 150.00 more for anther that mite pop up with the boxes but to pay a extra 200.00 for a box and bracelet ?rockmastermike wrote:agreed - good price, but am I wrong to be hung up on no box/papers? is this a rookie wis affliction? is this a phase, like my teenage son goes thru?

Otto Frie has the older style Omega Speedmaster 1171 bracelet that has micro adjustment on the clasp a defect in the new 500.00 speedmaster bracelet that can't adjust to your wrist except with link removal and hope it works I have that newer bracelet on my seamaster it never fit's right. The 1171 sells for 180.00 and 37.00 for a set of end pieces.moishlashen wrote:rockmastermike wrote:agreed - good price, but am I wrong to be hung up on no box/papers? is this a rookie wis affliction? is this a phase, like my teenage son goes thru?

Re: Have any of you ever used the remake NASA Velcro strap.
Good point Mike. You have to do the half-link boogie where 2 half-links are about the size of 3/4 full link. My Omega bracelet is like that and I have to use 2 half links for a proper all around fit so it works for me but I can see some having issues.

Re: Have any of you ever used the remake NASA Velcro strap.
time to consult my friends Jack and Coke
I get the thought that it's cheaper upfront without box and papers but would like to have them if I flip it one day. on the other hand, really, what $$$ value for a box and a card that is likely out of warranty anyway. I think the expectation is that a 30/40 year old pice might not have the extras, but a piece that is 2007 should have. maybe he'll come off it a little and will become too good to pass up! maybe a little more jack and a little less coke

Not me-I was thinking about it but B & P and no bracelet sort of killed if for me. 2007 is fairly new though so I was considering it. Waiting for seller to come down a bit but I guess not the case.
I'm still looking Mike.

You all know I bought this strap some time ago.I still have not received it.All the seller does is give me BS and don't answer the emails I send him in a timely manor.I finely got a tracking no. today when I was told it was shipped 6 days ago proberly since I told him I contacted paypal about getting my money back.Well if any of you are thinking about getting one of these straps I would stay clear I am not happy with his customer service.I have never gave any body bad feedback on fleabay this mite be the first.
