New Omega Moonwatch Master Chronometer
New Omega Moonwatch Master Chronometer
Am thinking some of you guys already caught this. It's Omega's brand new
Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Master Chronometer with the Caliber
3861.
There look to be several models from stainless, to Sedna, and Canopus
white gold it looks like. With details like 42mm cases, 50M WR, sapphire,
or Hesalite crystals, neat dials, and also hands, markers, sub-dials, and
tachymeter, cool diver's bezel, nice bracelets, and straps, along with
Caliber 3861 movement as well.
A few pictures for you...

It’s not ruined, but I’m not sure that it’s better looking.
Re: New Omega Moonwatch Master Chronometer
Like the watch, but I don't know why they had to screw with the pushers. Hate, hate, hate the bracelet (but I like the new clasp). Plus it seems like an excuse for Omega to jack up the price on the Speedy, and I wonder if this new movement has actually been flight qualified for space missions (not that that really matters).
Overall, if I owned an 1861/1863 model, I wouldn't be rushing to trade it in for this one.

There's something off about the case to my eye. It has a hint of Rolex fat case going on, but I'm having a hard time pinning down exactly where.JBZ wrote: ↑Thu Jan 07, 2021 7:08 amLike the watch, but I don't know why they had to screw with the pushers. I think the case is real similar to, if not the same as the existing Speedy. What I think you’re seeing is the tiny center links and how they appear to make the lugs look a bit fatter.JP Chestnut wrote:There's something off about the case to my eye. I like the new dial, but I prefer the old bracelet. The movement would potential he have me interested, but I just don’t see myself hand winding a watch anymore.

You know guys, was thinking about this, I guess Omega really can't fiddle
around with the design of the Moonwatch too much actually. It has to be
tough every time a new variation is being planned I mean. Because if
they change it too much it won't be the Moonwatch. But if they don't
do enough, it just stays the same. It's a real balancing act Omega has
to perform when you think about it right?!
Just is THE best seeing what you guys had to say about this one !!!

If I'm being honest, if I didn't have the Japan Racing Speedy, I'd probably hit it.
New Omega Moonwatch Master Chronometer
I like it. Needs old school Omega logo and Speedmaster font to make it great though. And the hesalite version needs the metal logo.

I NEED THE ROSE GOLD!
I actually like most of the changes. The hesalite model gives a vintage vibe with the printed logo and brushed bracelet. I like the new clasp, but will reserve commenting on the bracelet until I see it in person. Stepped dial is a nice touch too.
I think Omega was pretty intelligent with the changes between the hesalite and the sapphire model; the hesalite, in my eyes, has the vintage look while the sapphire sandwich with its exhibition caseback, applied logo and polished links on the bracelet will be seen as the modern (bling bling) model.
I know which one I would buy if I was too buy a new one. But I've actually been missing my 3572.50

Love the watch but the bracelet hurts my eyes - bet in looks better in person, though
