Harrods' watch room

Post by poppydog » Thu Oct 27, 2011 2:24 pm

Took the kids to London for the day and while we were looking around Harrods, I went into the watch room. They had in stock the new SMP and to be honest, it didn't look that different to the old one to me. Obiously the dial was different, though it could have been the bright, artificial lighting that affected how it looked, as I had to ask if it actually was the new one. It was also the first time I was able to see the thickness of the new POs and they are quite chunky, but in a good way that enhances the design aesthetics. Big jump in cost, though; it's almost as much as a 14060M!

Really? I'm not questioning the PO's quality, but simply that the Sub' has proved itself over time and the former is a new model. I do like it, except for the display back.

There were also some RMs that looked as though they might be the new diver. At £83000, though, I didn't ask to look at one

Te Sub hasn't proven anything except that they know how to copy a BP (or rather LIP).

Okay. Just trying to say the Rolex movement is "tried and tested", not looking to argue.
