PO chrono

Post by matt.wu » Sun Oct 16, 2011 3:39 pm

Got to try on a few cool things at the Omega boutique at South Coast Plaza today. PO chrono is super legible, but the thing is a BEAST. I wish I took a pic of the thickness.

Beast is right. I tried one on a while back, and felt it was too big. And I like big watches.

Definitely. And though it may not be more than a mm or so extra on paper, it feels MUCH thicker. If they made a 42 though, it's be a great great watch. Super legible.

Funny just the other day, I was at the local AD here and they didn't have the new PO's in.
Oh yeah, looks a tad big. Thats a preview of my wrist shot if I tried it. hehe.
But I think I prefer the Hamilton Pan Euro 1971 still.

Never been a huge fan of the PO (I've always liked them, but I've never loved them), but these chronos are ticking a lot of boxes for me.

Fortunately, I have normal, man-sized wrists, so when the time comes, I'm good to go.

Yeah. Also thicker. Sucks they had to increase the dimensions for the 8500 movement (I assume that's why). The original had great proportions as is. And of course by original, I mean the sm300.

I think the 2500 PO size is great and shouldn't have been changed.

I think when you see it you'll be thinking it's even on the thick side for you, Adam. Even though I know thats the way you like em.

:gayumbrella:

No but seriously - this one makes UTS feel normal sized, IMO.

Unfortunately it's the only word that came to mind the whole time I was playing with the watch.

Thanks Matt. I've been drooling over the new PO chrono ever since it's intro at Basel. I like everything about the new PO chrono. The lame ADs here in my area don't have them in yet..... but I have been talking with an AD that I have used before else where in the country about one of these.

Dave - I think it'd work well on your wrist since we've seen your wristshots of other chunky watches. It's a beautiful watch, but I just wish they offered a 42mm option.

When I mentioned the lack of availability of the new PO's to the lady at the boutique, she basically said, "Well, we're a boutique not a dealer (with disgust)".

LOL. And I also get 30% off from dealers and 0% off from you....

I agree, 42mm might be better for us.
Still looks thick/bulky.
I'm waiting on my AD to get them, as last week I dropped in to check and no luck.
The orange set looks cool.
Hopefully I'll get to try them out soon.
