I dont know it just never did it for me not sure why but it just dosent float my boat. Regardless of all the alledged problems.
Just because it doesn't float your boat doesn't make it a POS. Just sayin'........

What if it does float your boat but has problems with the movement? :stir:

Its no Monster and I wouldnt kick it out of bed if it farted,,,, but I would trade it in the morning.

On the good side you can always trade one because a lot of people like them.

The PO is a great watch that some doof's on WUS couldn't manage to keep running and now has a bad because of that. I bought mine new as keeper based on Omega's reputation. But you're right, it's no Monster.

To clarify - Mike, Paul, AND myself have all had PO's that stopped running unexpectedly. Mike's was serviced. Both Paul and mine's started running a couple days later.

Sure, it's not conclusive that the movement itself is faulty, but it's happening a heck of a lot more than to other movements (and I'm talking ETA's and whatnot, not just Rolex 3135...)

Were the above referenced PO's purchased new or used? If used, how were they cared for before being purchased by you guys. You seem to make the argument that because its an Omega it's flawed.

FWIW my PO ran smooth as silk-kept nearly perfect time-even after I dropped it 4ft on the cement garage floor :o because I didn't have clasp proplerly secured. Kept same consistant time it always did. I had it about 5 months in all with no issues at all.

I've had four PO's. Not a single issue with any of them.

I did, however, have a Seamaster w/ the 2500C that mysteriously went out of chronometer spec and had to have it serviced. I'm quite pleased with the 2500C after having five different models with that movement though.

I've had three new POs: the first seemed to be affected by the cold after diving in 3 degree C water and stopped until it warmed up. My AD did a straight swap for me and last year I bought another. Both have been used for fairly long dives in cold water and both have performed impeccably. I really like the PO, almost as much as the Sub'.

Nah, Dave. Come on, man. I'm not saying it's flawed because it's an Omega. I'm saying the movement is flawed because of real-life experience.

I really like Omega watches, as much as I give you guys crap. I just don't have the highest of opinions of the 2500 movement. I'm still really looking at a 8500 Aqua Terra and if they stuck the 8500 in the PO, I'd be all over it.

The PO with the 2500 will always remain an important part of my collection. 3 years+ now and runs perfectly. I can wear it anywhere without worries.

Agree with ya Matt. I've had mine for over 2 years and it's been flawless. I feel the PO is definitely polarizing - either you've had no issues and it's been very accurate, or it's been back to the shop many times and you're cursing you ever bought one.

I've had a PO since 2006 [late in the year]>>

no issues.

On a side note: I did speak once with Roger Smith who worked with George Daniels. I mentioned people on internet forums had posted issues with the co-axial movements.

His answer was improper lubrication. The Co-axial movement is very finicky in this regard.

best,

Frank
