I used to own a 3570.50 and flipped it because I wanted to buy my wife a DJ. It was the right move at the time as my wife proudly wears her Rhodium dial DJ on SJ... Happy wife happy life, right?

But since then I've wanted the Speedy back and am now in a position to reacquire one. The question remains: New reference or clearance 3570.50? The entire kit looks pretty damn sweet and some reputable board sellers now have them available for around $3850… But on the other hand the 3570.50 is cheaper, a price can be negotiated, and I prefer the non-9300 pin-style bracelet in that it never failed me or required loctite. In fact, adjusting the pin-braceelt is the initial right of passage for ownership considering all the watch represents in this user-friendly era.
Those of you who have one (or owned one) know it isn't for everyone… It's usually off a few seconds here or there, you have to occasionally polish the hesalite, you might have to source a half-link from otto frei for that perfect fit, it costs more to service being a chrono, and your pussy virgin fingers hurt as calluses have yet to form before the first month of ownership. But man is it timeless and those chamfers!
I want it back because as a geek and long time aviation buff it represented an era in American history where the T38 drivers and pencil pushers solved problems with copious amounts of caffeine, nicotine, elbow grease, and good ol' know-how and ingenuity… An era sadly long forgotten but one I'd like to teach my young son when the time is right and I can pass-down the watch.
So I invite all DWC members to post their Speedy Pros in an effort to reinforce the decision I am considering once again.
