Things that go Bump. Vintage O

Post by 124watchfan » Mon Aug 08, 2011 9:04 am

Well, here is #5. A vintage Seamaster circa 1949. Caliber 351 bumper automatic, ref# 2494. SS with 2 tone champagne dial and gold hands/markers. Unassuming screw down caseback. Rather large for a vintage piece one of a few over 34 mm made by Omega. This one comes in at 36mm. A favorite of mine and nothing beats the feel of the bump on the wrist.

I actually stumbled on this one planning to use it as a parts watch for a franken I was stupid enough to buy. This one was in much better shape than the franken so I cleaned it up and stuck a strap on it. Wears great.

Better get one soon David, they keep creeping up in price. Nice Connies are about $300 to $500 more today than they were about 3 years ago. The dramatic up-pricing of new omegas is only gonna make the vintage market move upward.

That's a nice one Mike, love the gold dial furniture and those larger case models are pretty hard to get hold of...
This post is worth every penny you paid for it...
