New PO is greater than the sum of the old PO and the U1, IMO. Go for it. Consolidate!

Hmmmm, this thread has had me thinking: sell the (old) PO and my U2 and get a new PO. :excited: If the local AD here does me right, this just might happen. ;)

I understand those who found the Basel photos underwhelming, but once I saw these real life pics from an Omega event in Capri, I was convinced. It looks like the PO has reached its full potential, and I think these POs kill the Liquid Metal LE (which I saw at the boutique and wasn't impressed by).

The new rubber strap also looks fantastic and current PO owners should take a look at it.

45mm, go big or go home.

Good luck on the lifetime watch.
Somehow I don't think that'll stick.

Yeah....I REALLY like the watch. Just trying to figure out if this is something I'm going to want long term and if it's worth two of my current watches that I'd need to move. I'd need to flip the current 45mm PO and the U1 to swing it.

What would ya'll do? I mean I really the current line up of watches, but I'm a "wearer" and hate having a bunch of watches sitting on the counter at one time. I wear all of them but I tend to wear one for a week or so and then rotate.

stop being so freaking attached to that X-33 or Speedy Pro and let me have a crack at one...

Another thing I'm really excited to see in person is the Ti case of the blue PO. I can't think of any other company off the top of my head that mixes brushed and polished Ti surfaces, not even the IWC, the reputed Ti masters.

I've handled the Solar Impulse, which is also Ti and has the same twisted lugs as the new PO. The darker gray of the Ti mixed with the polished bits blew me away, and the blue PO has a high chance of ending up on my wrist (hopefully sooner than later).

Alright, I'm convinced; just going to wait and see but I'm thinking the old PO and the U1 will be on the chopping block to make room for the new hotness. :fro:

Not so fast.

According to Panerai:
Bezel: polished steel or polished titanium.

It's a separate piece anyway, so it doesn't count.

So I'd always thought this was a Ti bezel. Anyway, good point about the separate bezel.

I like the new black and white model... but then I liked the old black and white model but for some reason, not enough to buy one. I might be tempted by the new model because of the new movement... as long as it's not titanium, I hate that shit... (apologies to titanium lovers...)
This post is worth every penny you paid for it...

After seeing "real life" shots of the new PO, I'm hooked. It's definitely on the want list.
