Picked this up at the NAWCC show

Post by River Rat » Sat Feb 05, 2011 2:00 pm

Added another Speedy to the collection it's a older one as you can see the age on the hands it's a Omega Speedmaster Professional with the moon stuff on the back cover and 861 movement I think I got a good price on it.I will proberly get a better bracelet for it down the road it keeps good time and all the functions work on it.I had like three to choose from the case was better on this one. That NAWCC show sure had a lot of nice watches for sell some were priced right some were way over priced. The Omega Speedmasters were price from 3000.00 ti 1400.00 at the show so you really got to look before you buy if you ever go to one of these NAWCC shows.

Awesome snag Mike. so at these NAWCC shows, are there individual vendors like private sellers or retailers or both? Never been to one before but it sounds cool. not sure if there will ever be one close to me or not but I'd like to try to make it to one.

Here how it works if you are a NAWCC member at these things it cost 30.00 to register on line to get in the doors or 35.00 at the doors or if you want to sell you can pay more for a table to sell if you have a lot of stuff for sell. One of the guys from my NAWCC chapter just brought a watch case with watches and traded or sold them with out paying the extra fee we were waiting to get in and he sold a Rolex date just in a flash. Also at some of these after the first day they let in none members you just had to pay the 35.00 to get in the door.

Good call with the c.861, Mike; that's a great movement (I used to have one a long time ago, and I'll probably have another sometime in the future).

I found a similar model on fleabay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/OMEGA-SPEEDMASTER-P ... 4aa84f4f1e

At first I was wondering about the bracelet I guess the earlier ones used a 1171 Omega bracelet and you will notice on the dial it has T SWISS MADE T on the older ones and on the ones they make today has SWISS MADE I need to date this one I think it's a 1970's model do to the case back looks like whats on them today mite be the first year they put the first watch worn on the moon on the case back.

I was at that show on Saturday with Kurt [mrsnak] and a few others. I saw some really nice pieces, including a few Subs [5513's].

Well dropped it off for a service.Found out it was made around 1975 had it's last service in 1990 and looses 51 seconds a day.So it was long over due for a service.I supplied the main spring so that will save me a few bucks. So it's going to get the main spring replaced all gaskets and a cleaned and oil and timed. Will pick up a new bracelet for it next week told the watch repair guy that and he ask if he could buy my old one off me maybe I will tell him to take a 100.00 off the service and the bracelet is his.
