Fake?

Take a look at this PO, is it a fake or are those endlinks like that on newer models?

Mine is a late 2009. There are a few things that look off on it -- primarily the endlinks and caseback. The end links do not look right, they seem to be too long and the fit is off/not precise. The caseback looks a little different than mine, it looks like the metal is a bit darker and the texture of the medallion is off.

On a side note- that thing looks beat to hell with tons of scratches on the case sides.

If they are not a newer model they are different from the end links on my old PO.

Got the same end links on mine Giosdad, I bought it just 3 or 4 months ago from a busy AD. The fit of the parts is definitely not like mine, especially the bezel to the watch, it looks like it belongs on a bargain basement throw away! There is no marking on the right hand edge of the back either like yours and mine. Be fair if it's a fake it's not a bad one, you have to look hard.

Mine's a 2009 model and the list of things not quite right with the watch in the ad is long.

I'm not good with spotting fakes, but those endlinks can't be genuine: I've got two POs (albeit 45.5s), one from 2006 and one 2010 and both have links like Barry's.

The lugs and end links look way off. Too long. The dial looks pretty accurate, though I'm guessing the counterfeiters have fixed the date window issue on the bad ones (see Oscar's fake PO... ). Granted, I haven't actually handled the 42mm version, but it doesn't seem right. The "mark" on the caseback is missing also. Did the older models not have that symbol?

My guess is that it was a genuine PO purchased on a strap, then fitted with an aftermarket counterfeit bracelet. The head looks correct.
