Can I pull off a Speedy Reduced?

Post by suddha » Wed Oct 13, 2010 1:44 pm

There's a local guy selling one of the Speedmaster Automatics aka the Reduced (ref. 3510). I am going to take a peek at it tomorrow. They're 38mm, I think and I'm wondering if I can pull it off. My Sub is 39mm and the Speedy has a bigger dial than the Rollie so I'm thinking they'll look similar. I'm not necessarily a big watch guy, though I am a big guy....

My chrono quest continues.... is this settling for less? I love the Speedy styling and automatic is pretty nice to have.

Honest thoughts?

still a badass watch. i wanted the reduced before falling in love with the pro.

what i would do i go to your AD and try out the pro then meet up and try the reduced in the same day.

I've owned two Pro's... My gut is that since I'm even on the fence about it, I should skip it. If it was a Pro for the same price, I wouldn't even be questioning it. And the Auto is harder to sell later...

When you're used to seeing the Speedy Pro, the Reduced looks really small.

Dimensions say it's a very wearable watch, but I've seen it in person multiple times, and I keep subconsciously comparing the two - it always ends up looking too tiny.
