25 Years with Sinn
25 Years with Sinn
I bought my first Sinn in 1999. It was a lightly used EZM2 403 and I thought it was the HEAT! It was the first version, looked like this:
I wore it for about 2 years, but ultimately I didn't want a quartz watch. Then I bought a nice EZM1 to help out a buddy who needed some funds. It was nice, but I wasn't sufficiently educated and - after the 403 - it seemed too thick, and I sold it. After that, bought another EZM2, then expanded my Sinner ways, trying out (not in order): 657, 203ti, Eurofliger, several EZM3s, a couple more EZM1s, 856S, and so forth. Until the U1 came out. Wow, that was a new eye opener for me, and they were hard to find. Finally got one in 2006, and stayed with it for at least a year. But, I try to stick to a "one in, one out" policy and sold it. After that, I bought and sold literally dozens of Sinn watches, mostly EZMs, and liked them all. Just couldn't keep them all! The next 'Aha' moment for me was the T2, which is in many, many ways a legitimate successor to the IWC Ocean2000. Ticked lots of boxes, and is a below the radar watch. And in between these, I kept going back top the EZM1, especially to buy low priced Bape versions and convert them to decent, upright watch citizens.
And now, twenty five years on, I'm actually content with my newly 100% refurbished EZM1 3H and a most modern U50S:
But regardless of which one it is, I am just happy to be a Sinn owner and fan.

That’s quite a history and evolution, coming back to the EZM. While I’ve owned many Sinn too, it seems like there is always another I want. They are special.

It’s not a perfect brand, but probably my favorite brand. Although I could never bond with the EZM1 I had. I sold it to you, Seth, many years ago. I bet if I had one again, I would love it. Need another plexi 103 at some point, and loved the 156 I had. But I’m really happy with my two currrent Sinns (U1P and T50).
Re: 25 Years with Sinn
I’d be perfectly content if I had to sell everything except my 1.1 and U1P.

you're a good man, Charlie Brown - Sinn is skibidi and tons of rizz and that's no cap, sigma all the way

757utc is probably the one I wish I still had. Currently Sinn-less, but hoping to find a keeper when I'm in Frankfurt in a couple of months.

Re: 25 Years with Sinn
I have a fond respect for Sinn. I first heard about em over on MWR and TZ in the late 90's, early 00's. I have owned quite a few but like you I'm a one in , one out guy. Last week, I pulled the trigger on a new 903 as I alway admired the Navitimer style of watch. I will be receiving it in about 4 weeks and it will make a good companion piece to my Doxa 300. I think it will be my birthday watch.
Re: 25 Years with Sinn
Sinn really pulled me in around 2000 with TZ and all
I had a Breitling Chronomat but the no-nonsense Teutonic look had me hooked
After having bunches of them, I still admire Herr Schmidt and what he’s been able to accomplish

This one came yesterday. I wasn't expecting it until next week and also had some visitors, Rainbow Lorikeets.
