Sinn tease… 5/13/24 (new 903 lineup)

Post by BBK357 » Fri May 10, 2024 9:19 am

Some people thinking it could be a U50 sized U2 UTC.
I’m hoping for titanium EZM 1.1 or bring back the EZM 10 in a slightly smaller case.
I know neither will ever happen.

Smaller 857 UTC would rock… just saying.

Whatever it is it probably won't be available for 6 months to a year

I was about to pull the trigger on a U1000. A reedition of that would be amazing.

There are two on eBay that look good. The one on recon is super marked up. I emailed about it and gave and offer a long time ago. they gave me quotes comparisons from Chrono 24. I said nobody is buying those. Response was: this one is price comparably. I said ok guess you don’t want to sell it. It’s been for sale forever.

I’ll never understand these Chrono24 and eBay sellers that have their watches priced. 50% higher than they should be and they set for years

Something in tegimented grade 5 titanium would be awesome. Or a tegimented 43mm EZM 3 with the F dial.

Sinn just announced the release of three new column wheel chronographs - the 903 ST II, the 903 St BE II, and the 903 St HB Limited Edition. All models are essentially the same watch but with a different dial color, and on either a strap or a bracelet.

Diameter = 41mm,
Height = 14.5mm
L2L = 48.5mm
Lug width = 22mm

Movement is the La Joux-Perret L110.

The watches are in the $3730-$4170 range depending on dial color and strap/bracelet option.

If you like this style of watch, then this is a pretty nice option. The similar-looking Breitling B01 Navitimer is nearly 3x the price, although it does have the in-house B01 column wheel chronograph movement.

Not bad, but also not really new? Looks like the same watch with basically the same movement.

Yeah, a few design tweaks (eg.
Luminous hybrid ceramic material on hour markers and hands) rather than a new watch design. At least it's not the umpteenth variation of a U-something ;)

I had a 903; nice change of pace in the rotation.

It is a legendary watch, needs no design improvements imho. But loosing the crown at 10 and improving wr to 200m (impressive for a pilot chrono) is a big deal. And now with 60hr pr.

903, the Breitling it should have been.

While a good looking watch does anyone still use all the functions of the dial in todays age of computers and smart watches? Personally I have no idea how to use the functions. Doesn't it have something to do with piloting?

The baby blue looks very nice.

I would prob never buy one but they seem like a good addition to the line up.

These are tempting and I do like the tweaks. I’d have to sell one or two to make it happen. But, still, tempting.

I see it more complementary to the Breitling just as the 103 style watches I credit to Sinn. My Navitimer and my Aerospace get worn a lot. But…

I use the equipment in the airplane and as time goes by I don’t see using the bezel on the Navi any more with all the redundancy. We carry multiple iPads, etc. I do have an old E6B in the flight bag though. I still teach students how to use it.

Movement is the La Joux-Perret L110.

The watches are in the $3730-$4170 range depending on dial color and strap/bracelet option.
Price seems reasonable, but what's the story on the movement? I haven't been paying close enough attention to watches for the last couple years to know the real deal.

Since receiving the watch on Friday, I have nothing but positive things to say. The dial is much the same configuration but with electro plated blue dial. The bio Ceramic lume is strong and lasts through the night. I was able to read the time clearly at 5:30 this morning. The lume markers are applied by hand and the chrono function is crisp.
