Sinn U50 photos

Post by hoppyjr » Sat Jun 27, 2020 12:52 am

Here are some photos of the U50, together with the Ares Diver-1 and the Rolex 14060 Submariner.

The Sinn has a slightly larger dial, but the overall feel of very much that of a 5-digit Sub sized U1.

It's a great size. I like my U1P's size, but I can definitely see the appeal in this one.

Sweet! I’ve always wanted a U1 in my collection, but now I think it’s a U50 - same cool styling in a more manageable size package.

Congrats Ed

This U50 is a game changer for many fans of the U1.

At 11.2mm thin and 74 grams it is considerably thinner/lighter than a U1. As your photo illustrates, it lays very flat with a Zulu strap.

Now if Sinn could make a 500m U1 P at 11.2mm thin, I would be the second in line

Size looks perfect. Super excited. Sounds like the all Tegmented versions won’t be ready until later in the summer.

Mine is all tegimented. It’s the tegimented bracelets that will take longer.

Sorry. Yes that is what I meant by all tegmented, bracelet + watch head.

How is the weight vs the Sub? I will likely go back and forth between the Sinn and the 16600 and I’m assuming they will wear similar.

I think a Sub head-only is 68g and this is 74g, so darned close.

Congrats Ed! Its a great looking watch.

I will say though, its looks small on you, a U1 would look better IMO. Don’t know exactly why because the Sub looks great on your wrist.

It doesn’t feel small, but the U1 is just too heavy for me these days. Maybe.

It it’s smaller, but I’ve become comfortable with the Sub 14060 and this is virtually the same size. I really appreciate the thin profile and lighter weight compared to the U1, so I think it stays.

An interesting note; the bezel has zero play. It’s much more like an EZM and nothing like any U series I’ve owned.

Zero play isn’t what my U1 had. That’s great.
I’ll wait for photos on smaller wrists to decide if I’m in. It looks really small on your very large wrist, but I appreciate that’s it’s much thinner which is a really good thing.

I understand, I sold my U1s because of the weight too.

Much better on the NATO. I hate it on that single pass nylon strap. I’d love to see it on a Hirsch Pure.
