The bulk of the watches I have purchased over the last four or five months have come and gone with the core of my collection staying relatively in tact, but yesterday I received an essentially brand new Sinn 856 that I think will stay around. I had a 556 for a while but felt it was just a tad too small and bought my second Sinn UX a week or two ago, but it was a tad too big then and, lo and behold, it is still a bit too big now. But the Sinn UX reinvigorated my thoughts on the 856, which I have stalked for 2 plus years and actually made some offers on in the past, but never actually purchased or saw one in person.
Well, this really is an awesome watch. Very light and thin, but with a big dial that really pops, lug holes and the tegmented case. Came with the unused Sinn leather and a Hirsch Mariner strap that is more comfortable and looks the part (must better than an older version of the Mariner strap I had a year or two ago in 22mm). The Sinn reminds me a bit of my old Omega Bond Quartz in terms of its lighter size and weight, and flexibility with a number of straps.
Anyway, here are two wrist shots from last night. Thinking about getting the bracelet, and already have a black Nato picked out for it.
