Just in…Black Bay Monochrome

Post by hoppyjr » Fri Apr 19, 2024 4:52 pm

Black Bay Monochrome on the 5-link “jubilee”. It’s wonderful, as expected.

I enjoyed my BB58 blue, but it felt just a bit on the smaller side, wearing much like a 5-digit Sub. This version of the 41mm Black Bay “Gen 3” wears about the same as Submariner 41mm. The size difference from the first & second generation is noticeable to me, this one is sized “just right” and does feel thinner.

I like the slightly more aggressive bezel edge and the larger crown, which has a feel similar to the old big crown Sub. Bezel action is superb, as is the lovely domed crystal.

The dial is unique, with what I’d call a combination of matte and sunray finish, the latter of which is very subtle. When glancing at my wrist I am reminded of the Explorer 214270 and SD4K. Lume is green and bright.

Jubilee bracelet is, as they usually are, very comfortable and conforms to the wrist well. The T-Fit clasp is slightly different than the one in my Ranger, but works the same. Had this model been offered on an oyster bracelet without fake rivets, the choice would be very difficult.

Bottom line: I absolutely love it. It’s the Black Bay I wanted from the start.

Nice Hop. I’ll this own this one eventually. Seems like the perfect iteration of the BB in any size.

Edit: Whenever you get a chance, can you do a side by side with the 124060? Particularly the sides.

I’ve not seen these on a jubilee. That is really good looking. Congrats hoppy.

Congratulations Hoppy that is The BB to own imho. So good with no date and no gilt and the right size . It’s about time after 200 BB models love to see a non crown side pic when you have a sec.
The dial looks so good on the last pic. You’re making me want to get one even I was hoping to save for something else

Thanks B. I’ll try to get some profile shots to compare with Sub 41 this weekend. I’m gone today and tomorrow.

Congrat's. That is one of the nicest looking Tudors. It almost makes me want to get rid of the blue one to get that one. How are you liking their version of the Jubilee?

The jubilee is great! It’s comfortable, flexible, and the T-Fit clasp makes it perfect.
