I'll be in Istanbul, Turkey shortly and I'm looking for Rolex A D that hopefully has something more than an empty showcase! Anyone have hook in Turkey?

No experience, but the overwhelming feeling I get from TRF is that you shouldn’t get your hopes up anywhere in the world right now.

I was hoping there might be a chance... Going to check anyway, since I'll be there.

If they don’t have any inventory, storm out of the shop and yell over your shoulder “This place sucks! I’m going to Constantinople!”

Can’t speak to Turkey specifically but I had a buddy recently go to Greece and the AD wouldn’t sell to anyone that wasn’t “local”.

Me too.
I think most of the fancy stores are in the Anatolian (Asian) part of the city on Bağdat Avenue (pronounced bah-dot). Good luck with your search! Even if it's fruitless, Istanbul is a beautiful city.

Probably true. Back in the day, I got my Tudor Bucherer Blue Bronze Black Bay edition from a shop in London by wiring the money and having a friend pick it up for me. Probably wouldn’t fly these days.
