Best Dealer To Buy A Rolex From These Days?
Who's the best guy to buy a BNIB Rolex from these days, DavidSW? I haven't bought or sold anything in a few years so I'm a little out of the loop

but seriously, no insightful advice for your question.
Re: Best Dealer To Buy A Rolex From These Days?
If you really want BNIB, DavidSW seems to have the largest selection. You could check out Patrick Aziz (goes by OCWatchguy or OCRolexguy). I've had good experiences with him, and he has some new pieces. Maybe Thanh Do/Takuya or mdgrwl of Watch Exchange Company?
I won't buy Rolex BNIB right now. Impossible to get desirable models at retail, and the gray prices are far too inflated. But if you want to pay the price, they're out there.
Nice to see you back here.

I too have had good experiences buying from Patrick and Takuya.
But they’ll be too $ on a new steel sport Rolex.
Just go to your AD, subs seem to flow better these days. ExpII as well. Not sure what you want. If it’s Daytona or pastel OP, wait is long

Yeah, it’s kind of insane out there right now. Most dealers want an “established purchasing history” to even put you on a list for any SS sports models.

All of the usual forum sellers can get you want you want. It’s just a question of who has it now, or failing that who can get it quicker, and at what price.

I have a 20+ year relationship with my A.D. and it doesn’t seem to make a damn bit of difference, I just get the same response each time I asked.Zidane wrote:Yeah, it’s kind of insane out there right now. The dealers that are selling to these assholes are the reason we have a problem we have today.JP Chestnut wrote:All of the usual forum sellers can get you want you want. It’s just a question of who has it now, or failing that who can get it quicker, and at what price.

The dealers, the middle men, and the buyers all share some blame.hoppyjr wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 6:16 pmThe dealers that are selling to these assholes are the reason we have a problem we have today.JP Chestnut wrote:All of the usual forum sellers can get you want you want. SS models may as well be made of Unobtanium.
Some models with diamonds or two tone may be available.
But highly desired stock at ads never reach the case (bb58s are still hard also on the Tudor side). They are usually in the safe reserved for the high rollers.

It doesn't use numbers or moving hands
It always just says now

Yeah not sure I would buy one right now for the current prices, if you dont mind the inflated prices then go for it...I guess the flip side is that they charge what they charge because enough people will pay it... I went to my AD a couple of weeks ago, they literally had one Rolex it was a tt ladies watch out of all the cases...

DavidSW has a good selection if you can afford it…Outside of that- I’ve given up on my AD…

Being a grey market watch dealer seems to be a good way to fund a nice sports car collection

Yes. I should have started buying and selling 15 years ago. I'd probably be buddies with Colombian cocaine importers and have a fleet of lambos.logan2z wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 10:38 amI know, and yes, I can definitely see him in a Lambo. I'm not sure that I'm sufficiently capitalized to muscle in on David's racket without some cartel backing.logan2z wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 10:44 amIt's never too late to realize your dreamJP Chestnut wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 10:39 amYes. Yeah I think it may be tough to break into the grey market for new pieces at this point.. I guess there is plenty of room in the used/vintage space if you want to play in that minefield (I love vintage but the prices, the subtle variations, and the amount of shady people keeps me away from trying)
