Vintage Rolex Finally!

Post by tmw » Tue Jul 26, 2011 11:26 am

5513 Just arrived.

Immediately off the bracelet and onto a nato.

Its all about the dial and crystal.

Nice one, Todd. 5513 is almost everyone's first vintage Rolex. You really can't much better define the word "classic".

I don't know as much as the other experts, but I do know enough that yours is pretty freakin cool.

BTW, NATO - FTW

Definetly went down the vintage sub path. Was trying to decide between the 1680, the 16800, and the 5513. All have their differences, but in the end the domed crystal and very simple dial won out.

I see a 1680 coming soon.

And I think you will love it. While the modern Subs are VERY similar when you compare the date and no-date versions next to each other, the 1680 and the 5513 are world's apart. The top-hat vs. superdome makes for very different watches, both of which grant the respective watch an iconic vintage styling.

I'd love a 1680 one of these days. Actually, 1680/8 is high on the list. Bling, bling! :fro:

I just love the 5513 for it's simplistic dial. The NATO shows it well!
Congratulations!
