Curved End Rubber For Rolex - About Time!

Post by dshap » Wed Jun 15, 2011 2:47 pm

Someone finally designed a curved end rubber strap to fit Rolex. I like the look of the strap but I'm not sure how much I like it using your orginal clasp, I would prefer a buckle. It's $220, so expensive, but no one else makes one. What do you guys think?

This is cool. I agree that using the original clasp makes for kind of a goofy-looking deployant setup, but I'm still tempted to pick up a black one. David, you need to get one for your SD so I can check it out next month.

I don't think I'm going to be the guinea pig for this. I'm sure there will be some reviews on the forums soon, and I'll see what people think of them.

Love the idea, but the clasp pics on the site turn me off. I generally like tang buckles with rubber since it is (for me) much more comfortable. At $120, I would be a guinea pig, but at $220 not so much. Plus, it does not exactly allow for quick changes if you are having to switch clasps as well as straps.

would it be easy to take the clasp off of the bracelet? I thought it was permanent on the 6 o'clock side

I don't know, looks a bit goofy in these pics:

I think I'd rather just put it on an ISO:

I'm over fitted endpieces on anything but bracelets. Good enough for PAMs, good enough for Rolex, I think.

You read my mind, Rahul. I was thinking the EXACT same thing when I saw the thread title.

The gap used to bother me, but then I learned to appreciate it as part of the way the watch wears on a strap. No need to desperately search for a fitted rubber.

That said, I really don't wear anything but NATOs and bracelets anyway...

BTW, Jake E is such an idiot. I used to like reading through Rolexblog, but it got really hard to read anything he wrote that was longer than a sentence.

Why the hell does he put quotes around "Vulcanized Rubber" as if it's some brand new technology?

And triple-lock clasp? From someone new to Rolex I can understand the confusion, but from a guy who authors a "Rolex Blog".... I guess Rolex found some way to mate their triplock crown technology with the fliplock clasp for ultra water resistance and even more points added to your social status.
