Is the Submariner the GOAT?
Is the Submariner the GOAT?
Check out this cool video.
I know the sub has been something that I’ve chased for as long as I’ve been collecting watches and I’m happy now to have mine. I’m confident that I’ll have mine as long as I can wear a watch, then it’ll get passed on. I honestly didn’t get the joke until I owned one. And now, living with it everyday I have an even greater appreciation it.

The answer is obviously yes IMO.
For some reason, watching the video I felt an irresistible urge to punch the guy in the face. Kudos to him for mostly focusing on the no date references in images/video (I stopped 3/4 of the way though).

Re: Is the Submariner the GOAT?
The correct answer is no because as everyone knows, the Speedmaster is the greatest watch of all time

Re: Is the Submariner the GOAT?
Yeah not for me. But for the average person, probably.

No, the Rolex Seadweller 43mm is the greatest watch of all time.

Re: Is the Submariner the GOAT?
I dunno…. If the FXD were branded Rolex it would be tied for “the best Rolex” title with the Sub.
Re: Is the Submariner the GOAT?
It would also be 4x (at least) as expensive as it is. As you know, I prefer it over my 124060 even after removing the movement issue from the equation.hoppyjr wrote:I dunno…. If the FXD were branded Rolex it would be tied for “the best Rolex” title with the Sub.

Re: Is the Submariner the GOAT?
I don’t disagree. FXD is really the modern Milsub I’ve always wanted, although I’d have preferred a basic aluminum bezel insert. Still, close to perfection. When mated with the Sub, there really isn’t any need for more.Chocodove wrote:It would also be 4x (at least) as expensive as it is. Re: Is the Submariner the GOAT?
People often don't realize that the FXD is actually slightly thinner (12.7mm) than the 124060 (12.8mm) which I think is the key to it's comfort and look.Chocodove wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2024 3:27 pmIt would also be 4x (at least) as expensive as it is.
