Got my 2nd tattoo yesterday
Got my 2nd tattoo yesterday
I left it late in life to get my first tattoo last year at 56 years old & I've just added a 2nd roughly a year later
They are both Rush (the Rock Band) themed taking images from Album art.
The first features the iconic star man from 2112
My 2nd comprises the owl from Fly by Night, clutching the fireball from Vapour Trials under the clock hour markers & hands from Clockwork Angels.
It took just over 2 hours, which was a relief as the estimate was 4.
I'm pretty sure that's me done now.

Rush! Awesome Canadian Band, although I’m glad you didn’t decide to get a portrait of Geddy Leeandy tims wrote:I left it late in life to get my first tattoo last year at 56 years old & I've just added a 2nd roughly a year later

Nice ink.
I got my first at 61 and this one not long after. Still thinking of doing a full shoulder.

I have several regrettable tats, including a whole lower leg landscape from when my friend was learning how to tattoo… and it looks like he was learning! Lol. I was 18

My first tattoo when I was 18 was a wrestlers tattoo. It’s still there, but I probably will get it covered up at some point. I don’t regret it, just not my thing anymore. One that I did regret, which was done by an apprentice that I got for free and I agreed to it because 1. It was free and she was smoking hot and didn’t wear a bra and I got to look at her tits the entire time (like legit look at them as her shirt was loose and I saw them in all their glory), I finally got covered up a few years ago as it was awful.nweash wrote:Yall are smart for waiting. Re: Got my 2nd tattoo yesterday
All of mine are a bit later in life. I sorta went with a theme, being all based on either my or my dad’s life at sea. I was in a “nothing that’ll show wearing a nice polo” kinda rule, especially when I went over to the UAE. So, I have a very small camel that’s hidden by my watch to commemorate that time. The last time I went home over Ramadan (about a year before I left for good), I had a wild fuck it attack and got a very nice USN with a bit of scroll work on my left forearm.
The rest include a shark on my right shoulder and a set including an anchor, submarine dolphins, a thresher shark, and three significant hull numbers starting on my left shoulder down the left upper arm. Then I went for a back piece. Gaff-rigged fishing schooner for my dad, he was a bait boy on a Grand Banks fishing schooner in the early 1930s. If you want to see these beautiful ships in action, rent, buy, or steal a copy of the Spencer Tracy version of Captains Courageous. They were still real working ships when the flick was made, but I digress. Flanking the schooner are a pair of swallows, each of which signifies 5000 miles at sea. I did some quick math and realized I’d have swallows down to my ass, so I just went with two.
