The Gray Man

Post by mattcantwin » Thu Jul 28, 2022 1:52 pm

Has anyone watched The Gray Man on Netflix?

I've read all the books and enjoyed them.

We watched it a few nights ago. Like most action movies it was a good bit far-fetched, but we were entertained.

I watched it and liked it. As Ed mentioned it was a bit far fetched. I’d say a cross between James Bond and John Wick.

Every movie that guy is in, I feel like I hear half of that he is saying. I stopped watching till I have time to turn sound up a bit.

I guess I am not going to understand the Barbie movie either

A good watch. But not as good as the books.

That's what I thought after seeing the trailer.

They changed some things that they didnt need to IMO. For example, Fitzroy is an American vs a Brit. Gentry is a CIA asset vs an ex-asset/hitman on the run from the CIA. Etc. Kind of annoying is you like the story in the books.

But still not bad watch and lota action.

Movie was totally different than the books. Movie was ok as a stand alone action thriller.. but didn’t do justice to the books story line. Kind of like the Jack Reacher movie.

I’m still on Gray Man book 7 (Agent in Place). I’ll get to that one next month.

Yeah, I was pretty excited that a new Gray Man novel and a new Orphan X novel were both released this month. For Gray Man fans, I highly recommend the Orphan X series. These two seem to rise above a lot of the others in the genre as the character development is pretty good.

I’ll add it to the list. I was looking for a few more series so I’m not constantly reading the same thing. I’m already reading my 12th book this year.

I've also read the John Rain series by Barry Eisler; they're pretty good.
